Watt WebWebsites for trades

Questions, answered

If yours isn't here, send me a message or give me a ring and I'll tell you straight.

Is £300 really the full price?

Yes. No hourly rate, no monthly fee to me, nothing added on at the end. It's £300 for my first three customers, in return for an honest review once you're happy, and £500 after that. The only ongoing cost is hosting and your web address, paid straight to the hosting company and in your name.

How long does it take?

You'll see a draft within three days and the site goes live within seven, counting from when your photos and details reach me. Often sooner. If you're in a rush, say so and I'll tell you straight whether I can do it.

I'm not very good with computers. How much do I have to do?

About half an hour, all of it by message. Tell me what you do and where you work, send your phone number, email, a few photos of finished jobs and your logo if you have one. I do the rest. Nothing to set up and no software to learn.

What if I don't like it?

You see it on a private link before anyone else does, and you get three free modifications to get it right. Nothing goes public until you say you're happy.

Do I pay anything up front?

Half to start and half once you've seen it and you're happy, before it goes live. Bank transfer is easiest. Change your mind before I start building and the deposit comes straight back.

Who owns the website?

You do, completely. The web address, the hosting account and the site are all set up in your name, not mine. It's yours to keep, and you're never paying me to keep your own site online.

Will I come up on Google?

Your site is built so people searching your trade and your town can find it, and I'll set you up on Google Business Profile, the listing with the map pin. Reaching the very top takes time and depends on how busy your area is, so I won't promise you first place. What I will promise is that anyone searching your business name finds you.

I already have a Facebook page. Do I need a website as well?

Facebook helps, but not everyone uses it, and it doesn't show up well when somebody searches your name and your town. A website is yours, it works for everybody, and it's still there if something goes wrong with your account.

Do I get an email address with it?

Customers can email you at info@yourbusiness.co.uk, or whatever you'd like it to be, and it comes straight through to the inbox you already use. Nothing new to check and no extra password. Your replies still go out from your usual address.

What if I want something changed next year?

Just ask. New photos, a new service, a different number — I'll quote you a small one-off fee. No monthly charge for something you might never need.

Do you only work with plumbers and electricians?

No, any trade. Builders, plasterers, tilers, roofers, carpenters, joiners, landscapers, decorators. The examples happen to be a plumber and an electrician, but the job is the same.
